I’m Jean Franzblau, the Founder of Cuddle Sanctuary. I spent a good part of my life trying to figure out why I was so depressed and often anxious.
But it’s hard to see the water if you’re swimming in it - so it’s taken some time.
I’ve come to know it in my guts. We weren’t built to take in so much information or work so many hours. We weren’t built for the pressure of just survival. And it’s not good for us to be perpetually distracted.
We can be proud of ourselves for navigating this hectic culture as well as we have. But like so many things in motion that are unsustainable, so is this unrelenting pace.
Take a deep breath.
Replenish. Slow down. Tend to your well-being. Retreat.

I'm Jean
Hi there, I’m Jean Franzblau - sometimes called Cuddle Queen Jean on YouTube. For my own good and the well being of the Los Angeles community, I founded Cuddle Sanctuary in 2014. I also serve as an Intimacy Professional in the entertainment industry and give university presentations. In all of these roles, I can only do my best work when I am resourced and calm.
Being able to settle my body and mind is a powerful life skill. It’s especially important to me because I can be pretty high strung. Having tools to soothe myself helps me to be effective in the world and present for my happiest moments.
In terms of my background, I’m a cum laude graduate from UCLA and have practiced yoga for more than twenty years. I've worked with hundreds of people in my role as a cuddle therapist - both one on one and at my group events. You can find my appearances on BuzzFeed, Rolling Stone, Elle, The Guardian and the LA Times.
